In 2006, Sprouts launches in the Bay Area with the mission to empower youth to lead healthier lives by teaching them how to cook alongside real chefs at local restaurants.
Teaming up with Jamie Oliver, Sprouts creates a Chef Training Program to help youth experiencing hardship achieve stability and financial autonomy through life success training and restaurant internships.
In 2021, we retire our cooking classes for kids to focus exclusively on Sprouts Chef Training.
Sprouts welcomes its 100th trainee - Sarah Robinson! It's a tear-jerking milestone for our growing chef training program, and a crucial step towards our growth goal: reaching 200 youth annually by 2025.
Sprouts Annual Gala raises $400,000. It's our biggest fundraiser to date, drawing enough donations to fund chef training internships for 80 youth!
